Maria Newport | General Manager

Maria Newport is an executive, leadership and team coach; coach mentor and supervisor; facilitator, mediator, and organisational consultant, with more than 20 years’ international experience supporting organisations navigate complexity, change and growth.  Maria works with senior leaders globally in the corporate, government, education and not-for-profit sectors, helping them strengthen leadership capability, team effectiveness and organisational culture.

Maria also has significant governance experience as a non-executive director - previously served on several not-for-profit boards and committees, including: the International Coaching Federation Australasia, Coeliac NSW & ACT, Women Lawyers Association of NSW, Girl Guides NSW & ACT and Playgroup NSW and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Earlier in her career, Maria was a litigation lawyer with firms in Australia and the United Kingdom and held senior roles with global human capital consultancies in the USA and Australia. She has an MSc in Human Resource Management (Organisational Psychology) from the University of London (Birkbeck) and is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.

Maria is passionate about partnering with others to be at their best, particularly in the face of adversity - given her personal experience running her own business whilst being treated for early-stage breast cancer and supporting those who live and work with neurodivergence.  She prioritises wellbeing, in order to be at her best, by spending quality time with family and friends, walking her therapy dog around the harbour, swimming in ocean pools, practising pilates, travelling and enjoying the best Sydney has to offer in dining and entertainment.
